Nearing the halfway point in the semester, our teams are preparing for a strong finish in their fall seasons.

Monday, Oct. 6

♦ VOLLEYBALL: Missouri Baptist University’s women’s volleyball team travels down the highway to take on Harris-Stowe State University in a conference match-up. HSSU is currently winless in American Midwest Conference play, while MBU has yet to lose to a conference opponent. The game is set to start at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 7

♦ GOLF: Women’s golf will be hitting the links as they get set to take part in the Missouri Valley College Invitational. This will be the women’s second event of the fall season as they came in last in their previous outing at the Columbia College Invitational.

Wednesday, Oct. 8

♦ TENNIS: Men’s and women’s tennis will continue their fall seasons as they will host University of Illinois-Springfield. The matches are set to begin at 2 p.m.

♦ SOCCER: Both soccer teams will host city rival Harris-Stowe State University at home. The women will be putting their undefeated AMC record on the line beginning at noon. The men will follow in the double-header as they are still seeking their first win on the season. The scheduled start time for the men’s game is at 2 p.m., and both games can be followed on the Spartan Digital Network.

♦ VOLLEYBALL: Women’s volleyball will cross the river and head to Lebanon, Ill., to take on McKendree University. MU is an NCAA Division-II opponent. The last time the Spartans faced an NCAA opponent, they suffered their first and only loss on the season. The game will begin at 7 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 10

♦ GOLF: Men’s golf is set to take on conference opponents William Woods University and Hannibal LaGrange University in a tri-match. The team is coming off a big finish in the Columbia College Invitational where our own MBU Timeline reporter Dave Long took home first place overall.

♦ VOLLEYBALL: Women’s volleyball will host the Spartan Invitational in MBU’s very own Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex. The Spartans will face off against St. Catherine College at 3 p.m., and Culver-Stockton College at 7 p.m. All games can be followed on the Spartan Digital Network.

Saturday, Oct. 11

♦ CROSS COUNTRY: Both cross country teams are set to hit the pavement in the Principia Cowbell Classic. Our men’s and women’s runners have been showing steady improvement throughout the year as they are still looking for their first team win. The gun is set to go off at 10 a.m.

♦ SOCCER: Our soccer teams will head over to Columbia, Mo., for a conference double-header against the Columbia College Cougars. The women will get the action going at 1 p.m. and the men will follow at 3:30 p.m. Both games can be seen on Columbia’s Broadcasting Network.

♦ FOOTBALL: Football will roll on over into Valparaiso, Ind., to take on the Crusaders of Valparaiso University. VU is an NCAA Division-I program that competes in the Pioneer Football League. The Crusaders on the year are 1-4 while the Spartans are still seeking their first win of the inaugural season. The game will be an audio only broadcast on the Spartan Digital Network.
