Celebrating Christmas at MBU – 2022

With winter fast approaching and the air becoming crisper, jingle bells whisper in the wind as vibrant red and green colors begin to appear, meaning it must be getting close to Christmas time. This holiday season, MBU has put on a variety of activities and events throughout December leading up to Christmas break. Students had a blast participating in all the fun activities. Students who are a part of MBU’s Opinion Writing class also shared their favorite winter season foods as they look forward to spending time with friends and family during Christmas.

Every Christmas season, MBU’s Hanging of the Green takes place on the Quad. Each attendee is given a candle, which signifies the light of Jesus being born into the world and serves as a reminder for members of the MBU community to continue to “shine on” during the holidays as we are always reminded of the light of God that shines through us each day. Swiftly Growing Up to the Tunes of Taylor

Music, technology and people all change as time goes on. Taylor Swift has arguably been one of the most consistent and well-known female American singer-songwriters of her time, with her work spanning multiple genres of music. Currently, Swift’s newest album, “Midnights,” is listed No. 1 on Billboard for top sales.

Growing up my main form of enjoying music was through my infamous SpongeBob radio and CD player, which was formerly covered in princess stickers. Now the radio hangs onto old sticker residue and dents from all the love it has received. Photo by Autumn Heaton

Homecoming at Missouri Baptist University is always a blast, filled with some of the most anticipated activities of the academic year. This year, MBU’s Homecoming took place on Oct. 24-29 with events that catered to the entire MBU community, such as the Lip Sync Battle, Spartacus’ Birthday Party, Art in the Sunshine, Cornhole Tournament, Bonfire, Kaldi’s and Kolaches, Homecoming Tailgate Festival, football game and the famous thePerk [25] event. Once again, MBU students, staff, faculty and alumni alike were captured showing off their school spirt during this year’s week of Homecoming fun.
