A Switchfoot press release describes the film as “part rock documentary, part surf film and part travelogue.”

The band members consist of Jon Foreman (lead vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass guitar, backing vocals), Chad Butler (drums), Jerome Frontamillas (guitar, keyboards), and Drew Shirley (guitar, backing vocals).

The “Fading West” album will be released Jan. 14, 2014.

Fans can preview songs from the album on the four-song EP “Fading West,” to be released Sept. 17.

Switchfoot’s awards include one Grammy, three ASCAP awards, 11 GMA Dove Award and 12 San Diego Music Awards.
