Snow days are always a fun treat, even for college students. Snow days in Saint Louis are seemingly unpredictable because the weather varies constantly. However, on Jan. 25, 2023, Missouri Baptist University called off classes giving their students a snow day. Snow days always bring different activities to participate in during the bitterness of winter, and it’s always fun at any age to go outside (or stay bundled up inside) and enjoy a snow day.
A snowy Spartan Field welcomed runners on a cold day in January. Despite school being canceled, the Spartan runners met up for practice for a 5-mile run, taking the opportunity to leave footprints and snow angels on the until-then-untouched snow cover after practice. Photo by Isabel Rinkenberger

With fun snow days comes the seemingly dreadful activity of cleaning off your car. Not only is there a large layer of snowing that collects on the car, but a layer of ice can sometimes form underneath. Jacob Simmons cleans off his 1998 Ford F-150 truck in the cold weather. Photo by Jessica Kunkel

Building a snowman with family members and friends is a winter activity that can be taken for granted in the Midwest. However, I still enjoy getting to do this activity with my loved ones. Mike Goodberlet (my dad) and Eliza Munoz build a snowman together. Photo by Kate Goodberlet
