MBU STUNT, although recently begun, begins to make its history and plant its roots as an upcoming sport and the future of cheerleading. The team works dedicatedly at becoming the best they can be and preparing for a bright future.

The winter weather is a great time to get together with family and friends to pop in your favorite Christmas movie. With so many holiday movies to choose from, the Christmas classic “Elf” is a must-watch for sure. Additionally, there are many other Christmas movies that are at the top of the MBU community’s favorites.
Watching Christmas movies is always a fun activity to do over the holidays. “Elf” is a great movie to consider this season if you are looking for a silly, comedic and heart-warming movie. The original 2003 motion picture “Elf” was created into a musical in 2010 by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin. I acquired this “Elf” the musical snow globe after seeing the performance in December of 2017 with my dad. This snow globe is special to me because not only do I collect them but it is adorned in “Elf” my favorite Christmas movie of all time. Photo by Jessica Kunkel
With winter fast approaching and the air becoming crisper, jingle bells whisper in the wind as vibrant red and green colors begin to appear, meaning it must be getting close to Christmas time. This holiday season, MBU has put on a variety of activities and events throughout December leading up to Christmas break. Students had a blast participating in all the fun activities. Students who are a part of MBU’s Opinion Writing class also shared their favorite winter season foods as they look forward to spending time with friends and family during Christmas.
Every Christmas season, MBU’s Hanging of the Green takes place on the Quad. Each attendee is given a candle, which signifies the light of Jesus being born into the world and serves as a reminder for members of the MBU community to continue to “shine on” during the holidays as we are always reminded of the light of God that shines through us each day.All photos by Jessica Kunkel
Some people might find it difficult to name their favorite song of all time, but for me once I heard the song that would be my favorite it hasn’t stopped being my favorite since. This song is and will forever be “Fireflies” by Owl City.

This year Missouri Baptist University’s International Education Week took place Nov. 14-18. There are currently 45+ countries represented in the MBU community. This includes traditional F-1 student visa holders (international students) and people born outside of the U.S. who have other visa types or now have permanent residency or citizenship. The purpose of the week was to showcase the wide range of diversity to which MBU caters. With opportunities to try different international foods, play unique sports from other countries and partake in international festivities, International Education Week is a great way for the MBU community to learn new aspects about food, culture and traditions from all around the world. Many MBU students, staff and faculty showed up each day and engaged in the events hosted by the Office of International Experiences, showing their appreciation for the different countries represented at Missouri Baptist University.
With the International Festival being the staple of International Education Week, there is always an assortment of booths to partake in. One table in particular had Korean calligraphy.
