The Impact of a Timeless Album

The album “?”, by Xxxtentacion had a significant impact on teens across the United States, including me, because of the intriguing songs that worked together to make this a meaningful track-list. There is no better soundtrack to improve your mindset throughout a difficult summer.

“?” is an alternative rock, R&B album written by the late Xxxtentacion and released in March of 2018 that skyrocketed in streams and downloads just months before the writer’s untimely death. Photo by Triston Buckley

Reimagining the Magic of Disney World

Countless visitors flock to Disney World every year to experience a “magical” vacation that only the park can provide. As one of these visitors, I too have sought after that particular brand of enchanting escapism, but revisiting Disney World as an adult has forced me to come to terms with the fact that it is a real theme park that exists for the purpose of earning profits. Yet amidst this revelation, I have found new ways to find joy in the place where I’ve made so many happy memories.

Spartan Baseball’s Two-Time All-American

Orlando Olivera is among a small percentage of athletes who have found success in a game of failure, and he added consistency to his success by being named first-team All-American twice during his college career. Along the way, he established himself as one of the best players to wear the Spartan uniform.

During his tenure at Missouri Baptist University, Olivera won consecutive All-American awards and set multiple school records before being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. Olivera returned to MBU as an assistant coach for the 2019 season.       Photo courtesy of MBU Athletics

A Day That Forever Changed our Perception of School Safety

— Part 1 of an 8-Part Series —

April 20, 2019, marks the 20th anniversary of the Columbine High School mass shooting, which was ranked the worst school shooting in U.S. history until the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting on Feb. 4, 2018, and was one of the deadliest episodes of school violence. Today’s story is the first in an 8-story series, and we are posting it at 12:19 p.m. local time (11:19 a.m. Mountain Time), which is exactly when two Colorado students walked into their high school two decades ago and began a killing spree that left 13 dead, before killing themselves, permanently altering our sense of security in schools.
