With a valuable life lesson to be taught, “Christopher Robin” is as much a movie for adults as it is for kids.

On a trip back to the Hundred Acre Woods “Christopher Robin” offers a sweet tale about the importance of family and the power of imagination.

The live action film shows the heart-warming story of Christopher Robin, the young boy who enjoyed exploring the Hundred Acre Woods with his beloved band of lively stuffed animals, including his favorite Winnie the Pooh bear, but who now has grown up and lost his way.

This trip down memory lane to a childhood classic is just as full of clever wit, timeless charm and whimsical characters as the original.

Reuniting many audience members with the bear of very little brain and his best friend, “Christopher Robin” delivers a heartfelt, sentimental portrayal of the many characters that people have come to hold so dear.

Most of the childhood portrayals of the story focus on Pooh and his friends, so the idea that this movie focuses more on Christopher Robin and the impact the animals had on his life, was intriguing.

Several critics were disgruntled that the movie revolved around what many called the least memorable character in “Winnie The Pooh,” but I personally believe that is what made it so special.

Focusing on Christopher Robin (played by Ewan McGregor) allowed audience members to relate to the movie more deeply than if it was done through the eyes of a bear.

The beginning of the movie is relatable because I believe at some point in all our lives we hit a point like Christopher Robin, where hectic lifestyles give way to stale monotony, where the world has lost its wonder and we’ve lost our sense of imagination.

“Christopher Robin” is filled with lines of dialogue that truly pull at your heartstrings and leave you smiling or on the verge of tears throughout the entire movie.

While the beginning of the movie is full of scene-setting that could make a toddler restless, once Pooh and Robin are hand-in-paw-in-hand, it is enchanting.

This movie reminds us of the importance of being able to find beauty and excitement in everything we do.

This movie has the unique ability to make you sentimentally reconnect with your childhood while also making you pay more attention to the life you are living right now.

The cinematic portrayal is stunning, making the characters look more like period toys than cartoons.

The realness of the characters makes the story so much more relatable, making you feel as if you are living the story out with them.

McGregor delivers the most vivid performance, breathing just as much life into the stuffed animals as the characters themselves.

From the touching feel-good story, to McGregor’s stunning performance, “Christopher Robin” was a sweet way to close out a summer with a reminiscent reminder of just how important family and the imagination are.
