After months of researching all manner of texts, followed by writing 25-page essays, students in a capstone course known as Senior Research Seminar in English are ready to share their work with the rest of MBU in a two-day mini-conference. The presentations will be at the Learning Center and are open to the public.

Netflix’s shocking documentary released this fall, “American Murder: The Family Next Door,” delves into the story of a Colorado man, Christopher Watts, who brutally murdered his pregnant wife, Shanann, and their two daughters, 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste, in cold blood, and then left their lifeless bodies in an oil field where he was employed.

“Black Mirror,” created by Charlie Brooker, is a Netflix original science fiction series that depicts the chilling side of technology today and what it may hold for the future. Brooker uses his passion for video gaming to bring a new twist to TV storytelling which lets the viewer decide which way the story goes.
