True Meaning of Easter

As we move into the Easter weekend, it’s also a time when Missouri Baptist University students are wrapping up final projects and preparing for final exams. Amid the stress that follows every college student this time of year, it’s an important opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of Easter, when Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose from the grave. Today’s blogs ask students to reflect on key questions they ponder at this most important time on the Christian calendar.

Today’s blog topic for MBU journalism students provides personal commentary into what we do in and through these difficult times. This is Part 1 of a two-part series.

The Meaning (or Meanings) of Easter

As the Easter weekend arrives, students, faculty and staff members will be celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior. Many consider these next few days to be the holiest of the year, while others reflect on fond childhood memories, while still others question if Easter has become too commercialized. Today a few of our communications students launched out across campus asking questions specifically relevant to Easter, and here is what you told them.

Black History Month Means Much to Many

PART 2: Black History Month brings many meanings to many individuals. We celebrate African American heritage, we reflect on past injustices, we recognize current relationships and we dream of future progress. As February is recognized as Black History Month, communications students at MBU were asked to blog about this question: What does Black History Month mean to you personally?
