Madelyn Shotton is a staff journalist and news anchor for MBU Timeline. Majoring in journalism and minoring in broadcast media, Shotton is also on the Spartan Line Dance Team. In addition, she works in Student Activities and is a student ambassador for Admissions. Shotton hopes to pursue a career in broadcast or professional events.
With paper-and-binder books taking up shelves and collecting dust, it’s time for them to go — these days students learn in more collaborative ways and through systems involving modern technology. Are books gone forever? No, they’re just online.

These paperback books are slowly exiting the library. More than 30,000 volumes are being removed. Today, the library faculty and staff members work each day cycling through each book to determine what to keep and what to say goodbye to.
After your parents once convinced you that “Jaws” was the greatest movie about sharks, it’s now your turn to recommend “The Meg.” This humorous yet thrilling film depicts a group of scientists in China who are determined to figure out how the once-extinct megalodons are somehow appearing again.
The small size of Missouri Baptist University allows for special events for prospective students. The university staff wants every prospective student to feel at home when they visit MBU. This day allows students to talk with professors, tour campus and residential halls, and see what MBU has to offer.

*Our mission statement is: MBU Timeline is the student news network of Missouri Baptist University, a private Christian university that embraces the essential core value of “social change through service and leadership.”
*The Bible verse that drives our mission is 2 Timothy 2:15 (Worldwide English Version): “Tell the true message in the right way.”
*The WordPress website has been up since late-fall 2013. We average about 3,000 sessions and about 5,000 pageviews per month.
*Our stories and galleries get as few as 40 or 50 hits, or as many as 8,000 hits.
*We have readers in every state and more than 90 countries around the world. We have several readers in South America, the United Kingdom, India and Australia.
*Most of our readers are in Missouri, followed by Illinois, California and Texas.
*We do not accept advertising as we are a not-for-profit online newsmagazine.
