Rioters filled the streets of downtown Ferguson, Mo., Monday night, Nov. 24-25, after a St. Louis County Grand Jury returned a no-bill decision, electing to not indict police office Darren Wilson in the Aug. 9, 2014 shooting death of Michael Brown.
People came out in massive numbers looting, riding on top of cars, and setting buildings on fire along W. Florissant Road. Many of the fires were left to burn due to the ensuing chaos. Authorities attempted to blockade the streets to prevent further destruction. Over a mile of traffic stretched three lanes wide, and driving out of the bumper-to-bumper gridlock was nearly impossible.
