Dressing for confidence can create success in your life.

As cliché as it may be, you truly do perform better in life when you feel good about how you physically look, it’s just human nature … actually, it’s just nature.

Women cry when they get a bad hair cut, men are embarrassed of the coffee stain that is under their tie, dogs hide in the bathroom when they get a cone from the vet, and birds fluff their feathers up when they are trying to mate.

It’s not just humans …

When you really think about it, who actually notices what we consider to be a bad haircut, or that stain under your tie?

Probably very few people … if any at all.

So why do we cry? Why do we get upset and embarrassed?

It’s not because anyone will notice or because it’s that big of a deal to the rest of the world, but it’s because we notice the little things that no one does about us.

We are our biggest critics and that can be both good and bad for us.

Striving to feel good about your appearance can give you a sense of confidence, allowing you to take on challenges you normally wouldn’t.

On the other hand, striving for perfection can lead you to feeling like a failure when you don’t reach it.

So we have to find comfort and confidence in the things that make us feel good about ourselves and know that perfection cannot and will not be reached.

Ladies, your lipstick will never be perfect, eyebrows never exactly even, and clothes completely in-style.

Gentlemen, your shirt will never be perfectly pressed, your face blemish-free, and your jaw will never be exactly like Superman.

But … I have good news.

Nobody really cares that much … except you.

Dressing to impress someone is really just dressing to make yourself feel confident because confidence is the most attractive thing a person can have.

I’m not saying to wear business casual 24/7, or to always have on full make-up because that doesn’t even sound fun.

It is important, though, to wear something that makes you feel good about yourself.

You never know who you might meet on any given day, so wear something you wouldn’t mind meeting your husband/wife in, your future boss, or even Jesus.

So, dress to impress yourself. Dress in a way that makes you feel good and others will be impressed too, but not by your outfit or by how good your hair looks, they will be impressed by the confident way you carry yourself.
