Growing Up at a Pregnancy Help Center

Even as a kid, I was aware of the heaviness of abortion because I grew up at a pregnancy help center where my whole family volunteered. As desperate mothers came in for assistance, I realized that, despite them all having different backgrounds and needs, we provided them the help they needed, and it shaped who I am today.

The Cruciality of Owning Your Faith

Spiritual crises, as difficult as they can be in the life of a young Christian, are necessary for a person to truly understand and own their faith. Even though it was the most difficult period of my life, I wouldn’t hesitate to go through it again because I discovered what I truly believed and who I am. This is what I found during my own spiritual journey.

Real-Time Observations from Student Journalists on This Election Day

As Election Day 2020 begins moving from standing in lines and voting to watching phones and TV screens for indications of who might be America’s president, college students could possibly make all the difference in America for the next four years. Our MBU Timeline student journalists took photos today and penned their observations on this historic day.


The sun is barely peaking over the roof at Parkway South High School as voters line up first thing in the morning to cast their ballots in today’s election. At around 7 a.m., when MBU Timeline staffer Jack Gienke took this photo, there were a few hundred voters already in line. Voter turnout could reach a record high today.     Photo by Jack Gienke

Ben Rector Works His “Magic” in Reflective Record

Ben Rector’s album, “Magic,” takes listeners on a close and intimate journey through the phases of life from the dreams of youth to the struggles of adulthood, reflecting on lessons learned along the way. The release focuses on the magic human beings possess and how relationships can shape the course of our lives.

“Magic,” Rector’s seventh studio album, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums chart in 2018 and rose to No. 2 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart. Rector was slated to headline “The Old Friends Acoustic Tour” before it was postponed due to coronavirus and presented as a livestream.     Photo by Kris Hanson
